The MSVU Library has a large collection of lesbian pulp fiction. This genre flourished during the pre-Stonewall era of 1950s and 1960s America when the public’s fascination with sexual and societal outlaws in books and movies contended with rigorous legal and political sanctions and the celebration of conformity in magazines, movies, and television.

The Library began the collection in 1996 at the request of faculty in the English and Women's Studies departments.
